About Us
Water Polo is an exciting, fast paced, and energetic sport thats not only fun to play but also exciting to watch. Tauranga Water Polo Club began in 2003 and has grown exponentially. Our club welcomes all new members young and old to be part of our Water Polo Whanau.
Throughout the year we have Mini Water Polo for young Primary School children where they learn the fundamentals of Water Polo in a fun environment at Memorial, Omokoroa and Papamoa pools. The largest New Zealand Intermediate League is run for Years 7 and 8 where many teams compete in the Olympic Hopefuls, Winter Festival, and other Tournaments, and a Secondary League for Year 9 and above for High Schools.
The club also has a affiliation with New Zealand Water Polo and enters teams in the National age competitions, club members represent the Bay of Plenty in age groups from U12’s to Seniors and these Tournaments are staggered throughout the year.
Want to contribute in another way? Why not join the team as a Referee, a Coach or join the Tauranga Water Polo Committee, please check out the Get Involved tab on the main menu.
We look forward to seeing you poolside!
